Hello! My name is Kate Shapiro, I’m 21 years old and originally from Chicago, Illinois. I just completed my third year at Vanderbilt University, where I study Cognitive Studies, History, and Political Science. With five years of tutoring experience under my belt, I love working with students of all ages and skill levels to help them feel more confident, capable, and empowered both in and out of the classroom. I specialize in standardized test prep, executive functioning coaching, reading comprehension, and math support. I believe that standardized tests are like puzzles: with the right strategies, consistent practice, and confidence-building tools, every student can master them. Similarly, I see executive functioning as a skill set that can be developed with the right support. I meet students where they are and work to create a judgment-free, encouraging space that helps them thrive both academically and personally. I’m organized, reliable, and genuinely care about helping students reach their full potential. Whether your child is aiming for a top test score or simply trying to stay on top of schoolwork, I’m here to help them feel empowered and supported. When I’m not tutoring or studying, I love to read, take long walks through Centennial Park, try new coffee shops, and spend time with my friends and family.
