Morgan grew up in Jackson, MS, and attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland, MS, a nationally ranked college preparatory school with a focus on writing skills. After high school he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music when his band was signed to Capitol Records.
During his time in Los Angeles, he found that his intellectual curiosity was not satisfied and he enrolled at Millsaps College in his hometown. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies, gaining an expertise in both Latin and Greek translation, a love of rigorous textual analysis in all humanities-based subjects, and a passion for travel after spending multiple summers abroad.
Morgan returned to Los Angeles to once again pursue music as a career but found that teaching was a true passion. He worked for 8 years with Franklin Educational Services, a renowned center for children with developmental challenges and students from all walks of life. He home-schooled multiple children one-on-one in all subject areas and spent his afternoons dodging Los Angeles traffic to help high schoolers with their coursework.
In 2020, he returned to Mississippi to attend law school at the University of Mississippi and graduated summa cum laude in May 2023. He enjoys spending time with his 18 month-old son and wife, working in the yard, playing video games, learning languages, and writing music.
